Treasure Valley Laboratory (TVL) is a joint venture between Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML).
SARMC, based in Boise, Idaho, is part of the Saint Alphonsus Health System, a four-hospital, 714-bed integrated healthcare system serving southwestern Idaho, eastern Oregon and northern Nevada. PAML, headquartered in Spokane, Washington, is owned by Providence Health and Services and Catholic Health Initiatives. It is one the top ten reference laboratories in the country and also an industry leader in laboratory outreach partnerships.
TVL, also known as Southern Idaho Regional Laboratory because of its previous owners, performs an extensive array of diagnostic laboratory tests for healthcare providers in their region.

LABORATORY SPECIALTIES
GENETICS SERVICESTVL, in collaboration with its testing partners, provides a comprehensive menu of genetic and ancillary testing to aid physicians in the diagnosis and management of genetic disorders and neoplasia. These include cytogenetic diagnostics, over 100 FISH assays, fetal risk screening, and molecular genetics and infectious disease testing. In addition, PAML offers genetic consultative services to help with questions your staff or physicians may have regarding ordering and sending out all types of genetic tests.
A Focus on Local Testing
Enhanced levels of local testing are the result of TVL’s community-based testing initiative. The majority of tests performed by SARMC in Boise, with some of the esoteric testing being performed by PAML's Spokane-based laboratories.
Same-Day Testing
TVL offers Boise’s only rapid-response testing service. Results for many commonly-ordered tests received by noon are reported by 5:00 PM that afternoon.

Contrary to the national labs, TVL’s commitment to our area means that laboratory testing, jobs, and revenues remain in the region.
